Subject: Amazing
What an amazing show. If you put on a pair of headphones for this one, it's just amazing. It has a really cool echoey cave vibe to it, and that just adds to it in my mind. The deep echo effect makes this perform of "Janine" the very best I have heard. It just creates a really sad, tear jerking performance. Especially knowing that this was the last year of the Soul Coughing....

A must download. "Janine" alone makes this worth it.

Subject: Good show, but the listed date/location is wrong
Ok, first things first. I've got a couple corrections about the show date/location. It's from the Carnagie-Mellon University spring carnival, played on April 16th 1999, which is why Doughty shouts "People of the 412 [area code] people of the CMU!" in the intro (for more info see http://www.scug.net/gigography.html). This actually explains the sound quality. The show was performed in the school's gym which doesn't exactly have the best acoustics. With this in mind, the recording quality is actually very good. The show itself is great. Amazing set list, and M. Doughty at his best. Good stuff overall.

Subject: Sounds like it was recorded in a well
I appreciate this recording.. however the quality isn't all that great. It sounds as if it was recorded from the refreshment stand outside the venue. However, having Soul Coughing recordings is better than NO Soul Coughing recordings.

Notes

9.16.99 show "Rolling in Pittsburgh" liberated bootleg.

The show was from a package tour with Cibo Matto playing 1st, Soul Coughing playing 2nd, and another band headlining (which I can't remember). And the show was not called Rolling in Pittsburgh.
